Robert Glen Amende

Memorial Service for Robert Amende will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, Erik Bergquist officiating. Robert G. "Jim" Amende, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Close to Home Hospice of natural causes. Jim was born on April 8, 1923 in Recluse, Wyoming to William and Louise Amende. Jim attended school until the 8th grade. He met the love of his life Avonne Taylor and they were married on July 28, 1945. They raised a family of a son and two daughters. Jim farmed and ranched until 1985 when he and Avonne retired and moved to Buffalo, Wyoming and later to Gillette, Wyoming. The couple loved to go to country dances and waltz. They did some traveling with family and friends until Avonne passed in 2000. Jim is survived by his children; Terry (Connie)Amende of Moorcroft, WY, Glenita (Lloyd) Wood and Dena Heimann (Tom Hutton) all of Gillette, WY, sister; Betty Lou Wantulok of Sheridan, WY, along with 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Avonne, his parents; William and Louise Amende, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 grandson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent in Jim's name to Close to Home Hospice house.
