Donna Marie Nickel

Funeral Services for Donna Nickel will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Deacon Kim Carroll officiating. Donna passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, WY after a courageous battle with A.L.S.(Lou Gehrigs Disease). Donna was born to Don and Shorty (Koenig) Ellsworth on February 29, 1952 in Rugby, North Dakota. She graduated from Tioga High School in 1970. Donna moved with her family to Gillette, WY in 1971 where she met the love of her life, Dean Nickel. They married February 19, 1972, and celebrated 42 years of marriage this year. Together they raised two daughters, Dawn and Denise. Donna enjoyed sewing, gardening, gambling, and watching sports with Dean. She also enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone. Her genuine smile will forever be cherished. Donna especially loved spending time with her grandchildren Sami, Connor, Austin, and Ashtyn. Her kind heart and tender hands will lead them through their many journeys. Donna is survived by her husband Dean, children Dawn (Jason) King, Denise (Jeff) Seeley, and four grandchildren. Her mother Shorty Ellsworth, her sisters Gale Folvag (Grenora, N.D.), Jean Edwards (Gillette, WY), and brothers Roy Ellsworth (Gillette, WY), Randy Ellsworth (Gillette, WY), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her father Don Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Donna's name to Close to Home Hospice.
