Glenn Leonard Puhl

A Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn Leonard Puhl will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson as celebrant. Interment will take place Monday, November 3, 2014 in Fruita, Colorado. Glenn Puhl, age 74, of Gillette, Wyoming died Saturday October 25, 2014 at the Close To Home Hospice House. Glenn was born December 19, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Leonard and Thelma (Streeter) Puhl . He grew up in Denver, CO and graduated from Mapleton High School. After graduation Glenn served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1957 - 1959. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S Marine Corp. Glenn went to work in his father's construction business. Glenn married Rosann Petey on January 11, 1978 at St. Mathews Catholic Church in Gillette. Throughout his life Glenn also worked in the ski industry as well as in hard rock and coal mining before retiring from Peabody Mine in 2006.Glenn was a devout member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and loved serving as a Eucharistic Minister. He had a very strong faith. Glenn was an accomplished pilot and an animal lover. Two of the greatest joys in his life were taking care of his horses and flying his plane. Glenn also enjoyed going boating and fishing. Glenn is survived by his wife Rosann; son: Bill (Lori) Puhl of Craig, CO; daughter: Valerie Collins of Sheridan, WY; and brothers: Dennis (Caroline) Puhl of Parker, CO; Jim Puhl of Seattle, WA.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth Puhl, and by his grandson Michael Puhl.In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to benefit Close to Home Hospice House.
