Dixie Rae Linn-Norberg Memorial Service for Dixie Linn- Norberg will be held at 10:00 a.m. September 20, 2014 at the United Church of Christ in Dupree, South Dakota. Dixie Linn-Norberg passed away on September 14th, 2014 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital due to complications from lung cancer.Dixie Rae Linn-Norberg was born to Floyd and Irene Linn on December 22, 1953 in Dupree, South Dakota. She grew up in Lantry with her two sisters Laurie and Annette. Dixie attended Lantry Country School and graduated from Dupree High School in 1971. She continued her education graduating from the University of South Dakota and the University of Wyoming with a Master's degree in Education. Dixie passed on her lifelong passion for learning, to her students. She taught school across western South Dakota most recently special education at Takini School. Dixie was known for being a compassionate educator and advocate for struggling students. She had a gift for seeing the potential for greatness in everyone she met. Dixie's other great passion was the outdoors whether it was fishing, rock hunting, or taking strolls in the prairie. She simply loved spending time in nature. Dixie has touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Dixie is survived by her husband, Garry Norberg; daughters, Chrystal Lund, Megan Jones, Cheyanne Jones; sons, Travis and Nick Norberg; sisters, Annette Linn and Laurie Coleman; mother, Irene Linn and 8 grandchildren.
