Charlene Cecile Peper

Charlene Peper Charlene "Cran" Peper, age 75, of Gillette, WY passed away at her home on August 24, 2014 in Gillette, WY. A private family service will take place at a later date. Charlene Cecile "Cran" Peper was born on August 26, 1938 in Bell, California to John and Josephine (Estes) Doughty. Shortly after the family moved to White, SD where Charlene spent her youth. She graduated from White High School. On August 8, 1956 Charlene married Dean Peper in White, SD. There were five children born to this union. The family moved to Gillette in 1969. Charlene attended Gillette College and began working at Campbell County Children's Center as a teacher's aide in 1984. She loved the work and enjoyed her time spent helping the children in the classroom. In 2004 she retired from Campbell County Children's Center. Charlene enjoyed spending her time bowling and traveling. She was an avid reader and a diehard Wyoming Cowboys fan. Charlene also was very fond of lighthouses. Her family however was the most important to her. She was the greatest mom in the world, never missed any of her children's sporting events or activities. Charlene was always welcoming with her warm smile and caring heart. She touched and brightened numerous people's lives. Charlene will be dearly missed. Charlene is survived by her Sons, Terry Peper and Jamie (Riki) Peper; daughters, Roxanne Green, Shelly (Chuck) Deaton, Niki (Chuck) Hensley; brother, John Estes " Jed" Doughty; sister, Shirley Dike; grandchildren, Melanie (Jason) Ketterling, Adam Green, Derek Hensley, Ashley (Chad) Eischeid, Erin (James) Davis, Jamie Wilcox, Chamberlin Peper, Hunter Deaton; great grandchildren, Toby Green, Logan Ketterling, Macy Ketterling, Berkley Eischeid, Boston Eischeid and Keenan GreenIn lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit Close to Home Hospice House.Memorials and Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court Gillette, WY 82716.
