Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday June 26, 2014 at St. Matthews Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson and Father Timothy Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church with a vigil starting at 7:00p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Gregory Schroeder, age 50, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on June 21, 2014. It is with our deepest sympathies and gratitude that we honor the life of our cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. His ever-present smile and illuminating presence in our lives and the lives of everyone he touched, was his gift to us, a gift that we will cherish forever. Gregory Wayne Schroeder was born to Alva (White) and Willard Schroeder Sr. on April 28, 1964, the thirteenth of 18 children. He grew up on a farm outside of Fairmount, ND. He graduated from high school in 1983 and attended Wahpeton School of Science. While there he played football, which he immensely enjoyed. On February 21, 1987 Greg married Cathy Loof in Gillette. They were blessed with 3 sons. Logan (Gillette), Cole (Gillette), and Dakota (Gillette). He enjoyed coaching his 3 sons while they were growing up. Hallie, his granddaughter, was the apple of his eye. She could do no wrong. He and Cathy enjoyed their summers hiking and camping in the Big Horns of Wyoming. Some activities that Greg loved were elk hunting, gardening, camping, and running long distance races. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Willard Schroeder, Sr., his brother, Bruce, his sister Barbara, and his brother-in-law, Russell Keller. Gregory is survived by his wife Cathy Schroeder of Gillette, WY; his sons Logan Schroeder, Cole Schroeder, and Dakota Schroeder all of Gillette, his granddaughter Hallie Szymusiak of Gillette; brothers and sisters Willard (Vava) Schroeder Jr., Las Vegas, Nevada, Raymond (Jeanne) Schroeder, Wahpeton, ND, Pablo Schroeder, Vancouver, British Columbia, Jerome (Julie) Schroeder, Pratt, Kansas, Kathleen (John) Allen, Breckenridge, MN, Sandra Schneider, Moorhead, MN, Faye Brenden (Lynn), Rothsay, MN, Bruce Schroeder's wife Elaine, Loveland, CO, Fr.
