'Ruth' Frances Blauer

Funeral Services for Ruth Blauer will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Gillette Memorial Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming, Erik Bergquist officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Ruth Blauer, age 90, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Close to Home Hospice House. Frances Ruth (Pinckney) Blauer was born March 22, 1924 in Lorimor, Iowa to Faith Luella (Perryman) and Edward Leo Pinckney. Ruth grew up in Lorimor and graduated from Lorimor High School in 1941. She attended Bethel Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota for a short time and then moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where she married Loyd J. Blauer in 1945, they raised all of their 5 children in Rapid City. Ruth worked for Kresge's for 15 years and then for Control Data until her retirement. Ruth was a member of both the Moose and Elks Lodge and also an avid bowler for the Rapid City Bowling League. She loved doing crafts of all types and also working in the garden. Ruth moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 2012. Ruth is survived by her sons; Steven (Judy) Blauer of Gillette, WY, Dennis (Patti) Blauer of Choteau, MT, Mick (Cathy) Blauer of Lehigh Acres, FL, daughters; Sherry Montoya of Lusk, WY, Terri Moore of Rapid City, SD, brothers; Robert Pinckney of Conesus, NY, Bill (Mary Lou) Pinckney of Tillamook, OR, sisters; Mabel McMains of Whiting, IA, Edna Christensen of Rapid City, SD, along with numerous; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd, both parents, brother; James Pinckney, sister; Helen Gould, great-grandson; Kendrell Blauer, granddaughter; Cassandra Blauer. The family asks that memorials and donations be made in Ruth's name to Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, WY.
