Cleo Marie Gonzales

Funeral Service for Cleo Marie Gonzales will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014, 2:00p.m. at Olinger Funeral Home in Thornton, Colorado. Interment to follow at Garden of Victory. Visitation for Cleo will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Cleo Marie Gonzales, age 92, passed away on May 23, 2014 from natural causes. Cleo was born March 1, 1922 in Hoehne, Colorado to Louis and Delores (Herrera) Trijillo. Cleo graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1940. Cleo married Rudy Gonzales on October 18, 1940. The couple raised their children in Colorado, and later moved to Gillette in 1992. Cleo worked for Samsonite Luggage and retired in 1990. Her main job in life was raising her children. She enjoyed participating in activities at the Campbell County Senior Center. Her favorite hobby was ceramics. She won many ribbons for her projects at the local county fair. She was also very fond of dancing. Cleo is survived by her sons; Ronald Gonzales, of Augusta, Georgia, Steve (Barbara) Gonzalez of Gillette, Wyoming, daughters; Elaine (Abe) Jiron of Denver, Colorado, Joan Finning of Denver, Colorado, Marie (Melvin)Tarno of Gillette, Wyoming, Annette (Tom) Hooker of Denver, Colorado, along with 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 28 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Cleo is preceded in death by her husband; Rudy Gonzales, daughter; Linda Miller, son; Richard Gonzales, and 8 brothers and 1 sister.
