Memorial Service for Kenneth M. Rakstad will be held Monday, May 26, 2014, 2:00p.m. at WPA building at Camplex Park, with a great friend Carl Campbell officiating. Kenneth M. Rakstad, age 70, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Close to Home Hospice House after a tough battle to cancer. Ken Rakstad was born November 27, 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph Millard and Florence Evelyn (Lee) Rakstad. Ken graduated from Brockton High School in 1961. He then served in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1967. In 1971 he received his Bachelor degree in Science. Ken then went on to have a variety of professions including a school teacher to 10 years and working/ managing bakeries for 15 years. His final adventure was being a partner in a flooring business. Work was something that Ken enjoyed very much. Family was everything to Ken. He was a loving father, brother, son and friend to many. His faith in God was extremely important to him. He believed in showing God to those around him. He loved to study the bible and Christian history as well. Ken was active in New Life Wesleyan Church and a leader of the New Life singles group. Ken is survived by his three daughters; Charlotte Peterson of Billings, MT, Jennifer Rakstad of Gillette, WY, and Rebekah Rakstad of Moorcroft, WY, son; Ken Rakstad of Rocksprings, WY, sisters; Fran Richardson and Barb Mooney both of Billings, MT, Helen Mischel of Augusta, GA, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father; Joseph Rakstad, mother; Florence Rakstad, and brother; Ronald Rakstad.
