Donald Ralph Unterburger

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Gillette Memorial Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming. Donald Ralph Unterburger, age 55, died March 20, 2014 of liver failure at Close to Home Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming. Don was born on January 1, 1959 in Litchfield, Minnesota to Clarence and Ruth Unterburger. He attended school in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1977. He worked at various jobs in Minnesota before moving to Gillette, Wyoming in 1980. He worked for Cyclone Drilling, Inc. as a roughneck on oil rigs for over 30 years. If he hadn't worked on the oil rigs he would have done well as a stand-up comedian. His interests included fishing, football and riding his Harley. Don was survived by 10 sisters, 4 brothers, 9 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. The family of Groan expresses a heartfelt "Thank You" to Ron Hess for all his time and caring compassion and expense when Don's Minnesota family couldn't be there for him. The family would also like to express it's appreciation to Carol Williams, Ron Torres, John Eichelberger and Tom Kahlerburg, and a very special thank you to Jane Nitek for all they did in the closing months of Don's life.
