A funeral service for Duane Thomas Beasley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, Gillette, WY with Minister Randy Blakeman of Cornerstone Ministries officiating. Interment will follow at Moorcroft Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. To 7 p.m. Tuesday December 17, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Duane Thomas Beasley, age 50, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at his home of an apparent suicide. Duane was born in Sturgis, South Dakota on June 4, 1963 to Thomas Beasley and Lois (Blakeman) Beasley. They lived in South Dakota for a short time, then moved to Moorcroft, WY where he was raised and educated. Right out of high school, Duane went to work for his uncle, driving truck. Throughout his lifetime he held a number of positions and job titles which included mechanic, equipment operator, and welder in the construction, oilfield and mining industries. In 1990 he married Melissa Mallak. To this union came one son, Vaughn Curtis. The couple later divorced. In 2003, while living and working in Casper, WY, he met and married Lori Scott. To this union they had one son, Trevor Dalton. They also would later be divorced. Duane had a love for babies and children. He was not afraid to show it. He would come up to you, pick up your child, and kiss on them. When he was younger, he spent as much time with his nieces and nephews as he could. He loved them like they were his own. He was a loving, caring person who was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and enjoyed cheering them on. Duane had a passion for fishing and the outdoors. He will always be remembered for his entertaining sense of humor. Duane is survived by his parents: Thomas Beasley of Mojave, CA and Lois (Ray) Morgan of Gillette WY; sons: Vaughn Curtis Beasley of Casper WY, and Trevor Dalton Beasley of Rapid City, SD; sisters: Sherry Vickers and Laree (Rocky) Feddersen both of Gillette, WY, Vicky Williams of Shawnee, OK ; Tammy Cookston of Newcastle, WY and by several nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles. Duane was preceded in death by his brother, Vaughn Curtis Beasley, in 1982. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Duane Beasley's name.
