Francis Joseph Mahoney Jr

Funeral Services for Francis Joseph Mahoney will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00p.m. To 2:00p.m the day of the service at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. Full Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 42. Francis Mahoney, age 81, passed away at Campbell County Memorial Hospital on November 30, 2013.Francis Joseph Mahoney was born June 29, 1932 in Newark, NJ to Anna and Francis Mahoney. He grew up and attended school s in Newark. After high school Francis enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and attended boot camp in Parris Island, SC. He then attended Airman and Aircraft Electrician School in Jacksonville, FL. He was stationed at MCSA Santa Ana, CA with the third Marine Airwing with the Helicopter Maintenance Squadron MAG-36.In August 1955 Francis married Patricia Kistler in Newport Beach, CA. Upon his discharge from the Marines, Patricia and Francis remained in California and he went to work for the City of Costa Mesa, first as a police officer then transferred to the Building Safety Department as an inspector. He was later promoted to Maintenance Supervisor in a newly formed city maintenance department.In 1976 Francis moved to Gillette where he worked in construction and mining. On September 6, 1980 he married Rosia Maynard in Las Vegas, NV.Mr. Mahoney is survived by his wife Rosia of Gillette, his son Thomas Mahoney, his daughters Deborah Belote and Kelly Crandall all of Moreno Valley, CA, his daughter Erin Quiros of Ventura, CA and his son Daniel Mahoney of Burlington, VT and four step-daughters Rena Pierce, Percilla Parkinson both of Gillette, Donna Maynard of North Carolina and Loretta Smith of South Carolina. He is also survived by his sisters Ann Rychel of Patterson, NJ and Margaret Kelly of Washington and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mr. Mahoney is preceded in death by his parentsMemorials and condolences may be sent to the family in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
