David Allen Peters

A Funeral Service for David Allen Peters will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday November 8, 2013 at New Life Wesleyan Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Steve Carnihan officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.David Allen Peters, 62, died of a heart related incident November 3, 2013 at his Gillette, Wyoming home.Dave was born October 22, 1951 to Wilbert and Delores Peters in Wagner, South Dakota. He was raised on the family farm in Wagner, SD along with his two brothers Jackie and Alan. After graduating from Wagner High School he was drafted into the Navy and served on a submarine until 1975. After making moves to MN, IL and South Dakota he settled down in Gillette, Wyoming in 1982.He married Donna Ehresmann on October 19, 1971 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wagner, SD. Three children were born to this union: Dave "Joe", Mark and John. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.He enjoyed owning his own business for 30+ years and was very actively involved in the Abundant Life church. On Friday nights you could see him shooting off his civil war cannon at the Gillette High School games. He loved and was proud of his children and 13 grandchildren. He generously helped his friends and neighbors and was very active over the years as a Shriner.Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 42 years, Donna; his children Dave "Joe" (Kim) Peters, Mark (Kathy)Peters and John(Holly) Peters; his grandchildren Jade, Kaiden, Haden, Brittney, Devin, Hanah, Trevor, Kimmie, Austin, Dawson, Jaxon, Emmalyn and Destiny; mother Delores Peters and brother Alan Peters.Dave was preceded in death by his father Willie Peters and brother Jackie Peters.A memorial has been established at First Interstate Bank and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 West Fifth Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
