Mass of Christian Burial for James Wolff will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday October 25, 2013 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with a vigil to follow at 6:00 p.m. Jim died on October 21, 21013 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper with his family at his side.James A. "Jim" Wolff was born December 20, 1931 to Henry and Catherine Loretta (O'Hara) Wolff in Gillette, Wyoming at the Mankin midwife house. He was raised on the family homestead south of Gillette. This began the life long career of farming. He enjoyed operating equipment and raised many acres of grain. He did custom combining for different farms in Campbell County.He married Joan Groves on May 23, 1953 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette. Four children were born to this union: Jane, Thomas, Catherine, and Jim. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. He enjoyed arguing politics with anyone who would take him on, reading and watching TV, especially westerns. He loved and was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He generously helped his friends and neighbors, fighting wildfires, plowing snow and giving advice.Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joan, children Jane (Larry) Foster, Thomas Wolff, Catherine (Loren) Crain, Jim H. Wolff (Jill Rasmussen) and daughter by choice Sharon Rinker, all of Gillette. Grandchildren Cathy Rueschhoff, Travis Baumgartner, TC Baumgartner, Chris Baumgartner, Patrick Baumgartner, Eric Wolff, Amy Wolff, Nicholas Wolff, Trista Crain, Janina Blair, Justin Holcomb, Vanessa Gemar. Great grandchildren Jordon Rueschhoff, Kalyn Rueschhoff, Alyssa Baumgartner, Libby Himes, Lucy Himes, Jaden Lolley, Mia Reeves, Katalina Crain, Alexa Johnson, Sable Johnson, Jocelyn Johnson, Nolan Blair and Kellan Blair, twin sister Joanne Randall, brothers Raymond and Harry Wolff and numerous nieces and nephews.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gertrude Wolff, Mary Shippy, Catherine (Kitty) Whisler, Ruth Handran, brothers Louis, Vincent, Donald, Thomas and William Edward.
