Sivert Christopher Boe

A memorial service for Sivert Christopher Boe will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, WY with Pastor Tom Frey of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Sivert Boe, age 53, of Gillette, Wyoming died from multiple organ failure due to illness on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette. Sivert was born November 27, 1959 in Livingston, Montana the son of George and Silvia (Thompson) Boe. He was raised and graduated high school there and enjoyed playing baseball as a young boy. After high school he went to work for a lumber company in Livingston where he worked until he moved to Florida at an early age. He worked in the construction business in Florida and then moved again to Chicago where he worked in a mine before settling in Gillette. Sivert worked in the oil fields around Gillette for many years. He eventually moved from the oil field into long distance trucking, working for American Van Lines. Sivert liked working as a truck driver especially because it led to him getting to see a lot of this country. He was a long time member of The Moose Lodge and The Sons of Norway, both of which his father introduced him to as a young man. He enjoyed fishing and was a big fan of the Cub's and Sea Hawk's. Sivert made lifelong friends and loved to spend time with those close to him and always loved hearing from family and friends. Sivert is survived by two ex-wives; his daughter: Heather (Brian) McDiarmid of Gillette, WY; sisters: Shirley (Fred) Harvey of Gillette, WY; Gloria (Dan) Lannen of Choteau, MT; brother: George (Jean) Boe of Billings, MT; and by grandchildren: Noah, Elizabeth, and Lyndsey McDiarmid all of Gillette, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Johnathon McDiarmid.
