Leslie (Les) D. Kile died on May 12, 2013 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming due to a massive stroke. A memorial service will be held at the Gillette Memorial Chapel on June 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Daryl Hilbert officiating. Les was born on Oct -05 1948 in Aitkin Minnesota to Dorothy (Wengert) and Benjamin Francis Kile. He grew up in Emily, Minnesota and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. In the fall of 1967, Les joined the Navy and was assigned to the USS Thor as a marine mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1971. He later joined the Army as a recruiter and counselor. He was a member of the American Legion Post 42 in Gillette. He married Lauren Ustach in Sisseton S.D. On 04/17/1971; they later divorced. To this union three children were born. Theresa, Darlene and Ben. On December 15 2002 he married Lynette (Lynn) (Widmark) at Las Vegas NV. Lynn added to Les' family a son Tony McLaurie and daughter Jessica (Haberstroh) Huckins. He worked at a variety of jobs mainly in the Minneapolis area including the United States Postal Service. He later graduated from Pine City Technical College as a locksmith. He owned and operated Les' Lock Service in the Emily, Minnesota area until 2005 at which time he moved with his wife Lynn to Thief River Falls, Minnesota and worked as a school bus driver until his retirement in 2011. Les and Lynn then moved to Gillette, Wyoming and lived there until his death. Les enjoyed bowling and joined many leagues over the years. The last summers of his life were spent at the Golden Pond Campground in Erskine, Minnesota. He especially loved it there and anxiously awaited Fridays to pack up and head for the "lake". He spent a lot of time scouting around the area on the golf cart and visiting friends. He enjoyed pontooning and relaxing around the neighbor's camp fires as well. He especially looked forward to visits from the children, grandchildren and other family members and friends visiting at the campground. Each fall he and Lynn enjoyed picking grapes with the other campers in the campground owner's orchard and enjoyed previous years sampling of the various wines. Les was a gifted singer and owned Prizm Productions Karaoke and was known as the "Outlaw." He later changed the name to LesLynn Karaoke and enjoyed KJ-ing in the Brainerd, Minnesota area, Bemidji, Minnesota and later in Thief River Falls and Red Lake Falls, Minnesota.Survivors include his wife Lynn Kile of Gillette, WY; Children: Theresa (David) Potz of Fifty Lakes MN; Darlene (Erik) Fleck in Monticello, MN; and Benjamin from Minneapolis MN; step-daughter Dee Dee Kile of Moorhead, MN; step-daughter Jessica (Troy) Huckins of Gillette WY; step-grandchildren, Brittani (Curtis) McLaurie-Lees of Gillette, WY; Timothy McLaurie of Gillette, WY; Amanda Manning of Gillette, WY; Travis and Cody Woslager of Helena, MT; Grandchildren; Cassandra (Matt) Otto of Emily MN; Jesse and Justin Potz of Fifty Lakes, MN; James Fleck of Monticello, MN; great-grandson's: Henry Otto of Emily, MN and Brody Manning of Gillette, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son Tony McLaurie of Gillette, WY.
