Memorial services for Derek West Hunt will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at New Life Wesleyan Church with Pastor Marty Crump of Family Life Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Walker Funeral Home. Derek West Hunt, age 19, of Gillette, Wyoming, a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a friend, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Gillette. Derek was born July 30, 1993 in Gillette, Wyoming the son of Gregory Hunt and Shelly (Peterson) Yeadon. As a young man Derek had many hobbies in his life. He enjoyed playing football, video games, running track, and snowmobiling with his family as well as spending time with family and friends. Derek's passion for football started while he was in grade school. When Derek and his brother Kordell were old enough, together they joined the Midget football team for Conestoga Elementary. With his family cheering from the stands and his father coaching from the sidelines, together with his younger brother they won many games. Derek continued to play football and ran track through most of his school years and even joined a flag football team out of high school. He had a big and kind heart and will never be forgotten.
