Chas I Norris, age 61, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday March 4, 2013 at his home. Chas Norris was born in Casper, Wyoming on March 12, 1951 the son of Charles and Coral (Day) Norris. He grew up in Midwest, Wyoming and was the middle child of three boys. He graduated from Midwest High school and completed two years at Casper College. Chas married the love of his life, Debbie Brennan on November 2, 1973. Chas spent the first several years of their marriage working in construction and then moved to the coal mining industry where he worked for 3 years at Black Thunder and another 30 years at Buckskin Mine. He spent any free time he had helping work on and maintaining the family ranch in Rozet, Wyoming which he truly loved. Chas had a passion for the outdoors and loved working in the field as well as hunting with his son and son-in-laws. He was always looking for an auction to attend and always kept his eyes peeled for a good deal on tools, supplies or equipment for the ranch. Chas was definitely the man to go to when you were looking for that odd ball tool. Even from Chas's younger years he was a car enthusiast and had a love for tinkering with cars, and most of all his father's 54 Chevy Pickup which he restored from the ground up. Chas was a strong willed, yet gentle man who had a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. He was a dedicated family man who adored his wife and children and found his grandchildren to be the sparkle in his eyes. Chas's family extended far beyond blood, he would gladly embrace any of his kid's friends as "his own". His compassion ran deep and he was always there to lend a hand whenever needed, but seldom asked for help in return. Chas is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie Norris of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters: Tanya (Mark) Allee and Krista (Shawn) Terry all of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Dustin (Kayla) Norris of Gillette, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Don Norris of Shepherdstown, West Virginia and Jerry Norris of Eugene, Oregon; brother and sister in-laws: Ken and Dottie Washut of Casper, Wyoming and Ted and Nadine Gassin of Rozet, Wyoming. nephews: Derek and Daren Linnabary of Texas, Tony Norris of West Virginia and Travis Washut of Casper, Wyoming; nieces: Brook Norris of Eugene, Oregon, Kathy Dell of Gillette, Wyoming and Terri Ives of Littleton, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Coral Norris, father-in-law Fred Brennan, mother-in-law Neta Brennan along with his niece Tammy Washut.
