Memorial service for Joseph A. Bolin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2012 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Shelter, Gillette, WY with Father Tom Fiske of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church officiating.Joseph Bolin, age 70, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, WY. Joe was born August 29, 1942 in Butte, Mt the son of Stanley and Julia (Legerski) Crossthwaite. He was raised in Billings, MT and in Sheridan, WY where he lived for some time with his grandparents before graduating from Sheridan High School. After high school Joe joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War before receiving his honorable discharge. After serving his country Joe returned to Sheridan, WY and he went to work for the Highway Department where he worked for 32 years until retiring in 1995. Joe married the love of his life Nancy Puett on December 11, 1960 in Sheridan, WY.Joe enjoyed camping, fishing, tying his own flies, and elk hunting. He was also a member of the VFW, however his real passion and love in life was family. He loved to take the grandkids and later the great-grandkids for rides on his riding lawnmower and he especially loved doing all his hunting, fishing and camping with his grandkids and his friends. Joe's greatest accomplishment was building his house with Nancy, his wife of fifty-two years. He was a master craftsman and had a knack for fixing anything. Joe was a friend to anyone and was always open to helping others in trouble. He was a very special man and he will be missed.Joe is survived by his wife Nancy Bolin of Gillette, WY; daughter: Josi (Randy) Larsen of Milton, WA; sister in-law: Shirley (Jim) Yager of Sheridan, WY; Nancy (Ed) Puett of Worland, WY; sister: Mary Lou (Jerome) Wilkoxson of Salina, KS; aunt: Agie Hallworth of Ranchester, WY as well as by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father: Julia and Robert Crossthwaite, his father: Stanley Bolin, his daughter Julianne Matuska, sister: Patricia Dixon and his grandparents: Joe and Francis Legerski.Memorials, to benefit the building of the new Holy Episcapol Church in Gillette, and condolences may be sent in Joe's name in care of Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, Wyoming 82716.
