Michael James Eckenrod Jr

Funeral service for Michael Eckenrod Jr., age 30 of Gillette, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Gillette Memorial Chapel, with Bishop Clark Melinkovich officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A potluck gathering to follow the service at the Fishing Lake, Edwards Shelter.Michael died Thursday, August 30, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.Michael James Eckenrod Jr. was born June 18, 1982 the son of Michael James Eckenrod Sr. and Sharon Jean (Dobkins) Schmit in Laramie, Wyoming. As a young child Michael moved to Gillette with his family and attended Campbell County Schools. Michael worked for GRC as a mining tire tech at Belle Ayr Mine at the time of his death.Michael enjoyed riding motorcycle and spending time with friends. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed their gatherings together, but words could not describe how much he cared for and loved his daughter Meia. He had a caring spirit about him and just wanted everybody to be happy. Michael will be sadly missed by his daughter Meia JoAnn Eckenrod; Parents: father and step-mother, Linda and mother and step-father Ray; brothers: Sean Eckenrod and Ryan Schmit; sister, Pam Eckenrod all of Gillette, Wyoming as well as many aunts uncles and cousins.He is preceded in death by his grandfather William E. Eckenrod Sr. and loving great-grandparents.Memorials in Michael's name are suggested to benefit his daughter Meia.
