Memorial services for Wendall Lee Overfield will be held at 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Moose Lodge in Gillette, Wyoming. Burial will take place at a later date in Lawnridge Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri.Wendall Overfield, age 70, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Friday, August 17, 2012 surrounded by his family at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Wendall Overfield was born on May 25, 1942 in Memphis, Missouri the son of George and Helen (Dye) Overfield. He was raised and educated in Memphis graduating from Scotland County High School in 1960. Wendall moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1969to visit friends and never left. He met Helen K. Carter in Burlington, Iowa and they were married on May 29, 1971 in Quincy, Illinois. Wendall was the owner of Overfield Construction in Missouri and Silver Dollar Construction in Gillette, Wyoming and worked for Flint Engineering in Gillette, Wyoming. Wendall loved horses, playing darts and pool, hunting in the mountains, spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. His favorite hobby was talking and visiting with people, he never met a stranger. He was the Wyoming President of the National Pony Express Association, National President of Pony Express Association from 1992-1995, and Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1957.Wendall is survived by his wife Helen Overfield of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Lee Overfield and Douglas (Jamie) Overfield of Gillette, Wyoming; two grandchildren: Ryan Allen and Carter Douglas; nephew Mike (Kim) Smith; niece, Kim Smith; uncle, Cecil (Rose) Overfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister, Linda Smith.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Wendall's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
