Karen Kay Schuler, age 50, of Gillette, Wyoming died on August 6, 2012 in Sturgis, South Dakota due to a heart related health problem. Karen Schuler was born on August 29, 1961 in Gillette, Wyoming the daughter of Buck and Carole (Holmes) Kunce. After attending Upton High School Karen married the late Dale Johnson of North Platte, Nebraska in 1979, and to this union a son, Jeremiah was born in October of that year. She married Jerry Huggans of Burwell, Nebraska in 1990, and two more children were born; Brandon and Devanie. She was a housewife and mother up until the early nineties when she became a CNA and began her career as a nurse. Karen graduated with an associate's degree in science from Sheridan College, and during her life she was also a substitute teacher, home health care provider and special education teacher. In 1994, she met the love of her life, Bob Schuler, of Gillette, Wyoming. Bob had two children of his own: Brett and Teresa Schuler, who Karen accepted and loved. During their 17 year relationship, they did everything together. Some of their favorite activities were taking motorcycle rides, going on road trips to the Oregon Coast, attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, going to concerts, and just visiting with friends. Sadly, Bob was lost to cancer in 2008. Karen's favorite things were 70's rock, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, black leather jackets, and wearing silver jewelry, especially rings with turquois. She loved her kids and husband more than life, and always tried to help people in need. Karen was extremely proud of her associate's degree and her grandchildren.
