Margaret Elouise March

July 1, 1916 — April 7, 2012

Margaret Elouise March, age 95, of Gillette, Wyoming went home to her Lord on April 7, 2012. She passed away at the Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, Wyoming with her granddaughters at her side. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Smithwick, South Dakota.Margaret was born July 1, 1916 in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of John and Bessie (Frye) Eubanks. She graduated from high school in DeLand, Illinois where she had been Head Cheerleader. In August of 1932 Margaret married Clarence Sparks in DeWitt County, Illinois. The couple would later divorce but from this union they had six children. In 1953 Margaret married William Case in Moline, Illinois and together they had a son. The couple would later divorce. In 1960, Margaret married Richard March in Hot Springs, South Dakota. After Richard passed away in 1979, Margaret moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where she proudly joined the Dona Ana County Extension Club. Margaret won numerous awards for quilting and for gardening. She was a master gardener and there was nothing she couldn't grow. In 2006 Margaret moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near her granddaughter. She was active with the Trinity Lutheran Church and was very proud to be asked to make quilt tops for the needy. Margaret enjoyed quilting, cooking and gardening. Margaret was working on a quilt that she was hand piecing and hand quilting that she would donate to the Festival of Trees. She made many close friends during her time at the Cottonwood Terrace Apartments in Gillette. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and for the fact that she really knew how to laugh. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with family and especially time with her grandchildren. The life lesson she passed down to her grandchildren was "Live to have no regrets." and that is how she lived her life. Margaret was a true force of nature and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.Margaret is survived by her granddaughter, Rosemarie (Joe) Oliver of Gillette, Wyoming; grandson, Dean (Vicky) Smith and family of Aurora, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Ryan Oliver and family of Gillette, Wyoming, Season (Matt) Mitzel and family of Gillette, Wyoming, Christopher Oliver of Denver, Colorado, and Jacob Smith of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters: Dolores Shilling of East Moline, Illinois, and Judith Rice of Hot Springs, South Dakota; sons: Gary (Helen) Sparks of Las Cruses, New Mexico, and William (Vicki) Case and children of Kennewick, Washington; sister, Arlene Hassinger of Decatur, Illinois; son-in-law: Raymond Surber of Moline, Illinois; sister-in-law, Vola Eubanks of Winner, South Dakota; step-children: Doris Hayitum of Denver, Colorado, and Roland March of Hot Springs, South Dakota; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren, and by one special friend she considered an adopted granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard March, her parents, brothers: Harry, Garland, and Roger Eubanks; sisters: Dorothy Ballard, Vivian Eubanks; son: John Sparks; daughters: Barbara Sparks, and Sharon Surber; and grandson: Raul Smith.In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to benefit the Close To Home Hospice House of Gillette, Wyoming.
