Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy "Dottie" Hladky will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Father Tim Martinson of St. Matthew's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Hladky, age 88 , of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her daughter's home in Casper, Wyoming. Dorothy "Dottie" Hladky was born on May 24, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Matthew and Margaret (Fusco) Colston. She attended Catholic schools until her graduation. Dottie married Ernest Joseph Hladky while he was in the United States Navy and they had their first child, Patty in Brooklyn. After WWII they moved to Oconto, Nebraska where Ernie grew up. In Nebraska they had 3 children: James, Mike and Peggy. In 1952, the family moved to Hartville, Wyoming to run the Miners Bar. In 1954, the family moved to Gillette where Dottie spent the remainder of her life. She was the manager of the Montgomery Ward store for many years. Dottie truly enjoyed working out in her yard. She valued a person with a great work ethic, and taught her children from the age of 9 to put in a full days worth of work. Dottie loved nothing more than spending time with and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Dottie is survived by her daughter, Patty (Darrell) Bennett of Sheridan, Wyoming; son, Mike (Judy) Hladky of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Peggy (Mike) Mahoney of Casper, Wyoming; daughter-in-law, Susan Hladky of Gillette, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren: Michelle Brennen, Diana Sampson, Patrick (Jean) Hladky, Paul (Andrea) Hladky, Dusti (Brett) Bulawa, Bubba (Toni) Hladky, Braidi (Court) Lutgen, Muffy (Jason) Best and Mike (Liew) Mahoney and 19 great grandchildren: Cole Brennen, Tristan and Jackson Sampson, Drayson, Halle, Raimi and Meg Hladky, Rylee & Kate Hladky, Drew and Bayli Bulawa, Trey, Luke and Lane Hladky, Nash and Lawson Lutgen, Jordan Best , Jasmine and Jaden Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; son, James; 2 sisters: Jean and Francis; and granddaughter, Tammy. Memorials are suggested to benefit the John Paul II Catholic Schools.
