Funeral services for Larry England will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Family Life Church with Reverend Thomas J. Lance of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.Larry J. England, age 71, of Gillette, Wyoming went home with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012, surrounded by his family. Larry was born September 18, 1940, near Paola, Kansas to Ruben and Ella (Dageforde) England. He graduated from Olpe High School in 1958. Larry then joined the Army. After 2 years of active service he returned to Emporia, Kansas where he worked in road construction. In 1963, he moved to Gillette and worked as an oilfield roustabout. Larry then worked in the oilfields in Casper for 5 years before moving back to Gillette to work for Jones Construction and Supply. He later was the owner/operator of Larry's Pumping Service until his retirement at the end of 2010. Larry married Judith Jones in 1966. They raised three daughters, Darla, Laura, and Priscilla, and a son, Jim. Larry was known for his hard work, ready smile, helping hand, and great hugs. He enjoyed his family and friends, and loved listening to everybody's stories. He was active in his church. He took pleasure in gardening, his pets, and driving the back roads.Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judith; children: Darla England, Laura (Gregory) Crowe, and Priscilla (Josh) Knight, all of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren: Kayla England, Matthew, Joseph, and Abigail Crowe, and James, Quinten, and Masen Knight; and great-granddaughter, Allyson Halder; sisters: Ellen Benedict of Wildorado, Texas, Gennie Casteel, of Olpe, Kansas, and Shirley Shaffer, Perry Kansas; brothers: Ernest England of Kismet, Kansas, and Vic England of Gillette, Wyoming; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Charlotte Bruhns, his son Jim, and granddaughter Payton Jo Crowe. Memorials are suggested to benefit Youth Camp Scholarship fund at Gillette First Church of the Nazarene, or Close to Home Hospice House of Gillette.
