Carl Woods

Funeral services for Carl Woods will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Tim Martinson officiating. Burial will follow in M. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Carl "Woody" Woods, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away January 9, 2012. Carl Woods was born to Franklin J. Woods and Nellie Mae (Crosley) Woods on November 22, 1942. He married his soul mate, the love of his life, Jackie Burns on April 19, 1975. The couple lived in Sundance, Wyoming with their three children for thirteen and a half years while Carl traveled to and from Gillette to work at Wyodak. The couple and their children then moved to Gillette, Wyoming where Carl worked at Vons Welding until his retirement in 2003. Carl's family will miss his smile and laugh the most. His family was his world, there was nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loved. Carl was passionate about fishing, hunting, and golfing. He enjoyed these activities with his wife, grandsons and son-in-law. He loved to watch cartoons with his grandchildren, Jaelynn and Rylan. They were the light of his life. Carl is survived by his wife, Jackie Woods of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Jeff(Shannon)Woods of Scottsboro, Alabama and Clark (Brandi) Woods of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters: Jowanna (Rich) Keil of Gillette, Wyoming, Debbie Woods of Scottsboro, Alabama and Kathy Woods of Indiana; granddaughters: Kayla (Kevin) Sisel of Gillette, Wyoming, Nicole Meehan of Birmingham, Alabama and Chloe, Chance, Journey and Siera Woods of Gillette, Wyoming; grandsons: Nick Mathis of Gillette, Wyoming and Kyle Woods of Scottsboro, Alabama; great-grandchildren: Jaelynn and Rylan Sisel of Gillette, Wyoming; sisters: Barbara (Chester) Thrasher, Peggy (Ray) Pruett and Wanda (Albry) Stagger; brother, Jim (Delores) Woods all of Fayetteville, Tennessee; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
