Funeral services for June Simpson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor George Moore of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Rozet, Wyoming. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.June Simpson, age 70, died at Primrose Retirement Community on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 of natural causes.June Marguerite was born on June 9, 1941 in Kent City, Michigan the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Rollston) Smith. As a small child she moved to Montana to live with her older brother after the death of her mother. She was raised and educated in Ronan, Montana. Upon her graduation she married Arnold Cumpton, and together they had 3 children. The couple later divorced. June married Harold Shaw and together they moved to Gillette, Wyoming in the mid 70's. Harold and June operated several different auto repair businesses. They later divorced. June worked at the Cam-plex and the American Legion. On February 12, 1997, June married Loren Simpson in Sundance, Wyoming. Loren and June enjoyed retirement together, traveling to watch Cowboy football games and trips to Deadwood, South Dakota. June's hobbies included gardening, vegetables and flowers, and the occasional game of cribbage. She was a fan of western movies, and John Wayne. She was particularly fond of her grandkids.June is survived by her husband, Loren Simpson of Rozet, Wyoming; sons: Ray Cumpton and Robin Cumpton both of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Evelyn (Dave) Wright of Stevensville, Montana; sisters: Frances Kinnuean of Kingsly, Michigan, Florence Pollard of Gooding, Idaho and Kathryn (Mick) Holliday of Michigan; and five grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Gerald Smith, Donald Smith and Marion Smith and sister, Geraldine Moore.Memorials are suggested to benefit the American Legion Boys and Girls State.
