Saddie LaVern Lubbers

A wake for Sadie LaVern Lubbers will be held from 3:00p.m.-5:00p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, Wyoming.Sadie Lubbers, age 68, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital as the result of a brain aneurysm. Sadie was born on October 13, 1943 in Shields, North Dakota, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Williamson) Gilland. She attended school in South Dakota and received her G.E.D. in 1986. Sadie went on to become a C.N.A. and for many years worked at nursing homes all over the Midwest. Even as a resident of Pioneer Manor her caregiver instincts came out and she would spend time checking on the other patients. Sadie also spent many years babysitting in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She was a fun loving person who was very active in the Baptist Church. She had a wide variety of interests including traveling, gardening, camping, playing cards and Bingo. Sadie also enjoyed writing poetry and sewing quilts but her most favorite time was spent visiting with friends and family. She especially loved time spent with her children and grandchildren telling stories about a mouse named Pepe.Sadie is survived by sons: Robert Conger of Oklahoma; Floyd (Melinda) Conger of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; daughters: Sheila (Chris) Borring of Gillette, Wyoming; Sheryl Conger of Hannibal, Missouri; Kathy (Jeffrey) Walton of Spokane, Washington; Kimberly (Rick) Harris of Griggsville, Illinois; brothers James Gilland and Edward "George" Gilland both of Lemmon, South Dakota; sisters: Annie Purdon and Gladys Kilwein both of Billings, Montana; and by twelve grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Elizabeth Trieb brothers: Abraham Gilland, Robert Gilland, and Benjamin GillandA memorial has been established to benefit the Pioneer Manor Alzheimer wing.
