Dorothy Mae Jahn

Funeral service for Dorothy Mae Jahn will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Jared Tucher officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Dorothy Mae Jahn, age 90, of Gillette Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 of natural causes at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette Wyoming.Dorothy was born June 15, 1921 in Soldier, Iowa. She was the daughter of Christian and Maude (Braden) Gran. She married Ervin Jahn on June 15, 1939 in Ute, Iowa. They farmed north of Ute until 1955 when they moved to Colorado. In 1963, they bought a Coast to Coast Store in Wheatland, Wyoming. After retirement they moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near their daughter Carol. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, music and looking at photographs.Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Maxine (Robert) Riley of Augusta, Georgia, Carol Jahn of Gillette, Wyoming, and grandson, David Jahn of Las Vegas, Nevada, granddaughter, Pam (Scott) Slawson of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, two great granddaughters: Sarah and Emily Slawson of both of Hilton Head Island, south Carolina, one sister, Nadine (Don) Friedrichs, and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and two brothers.Memorials in Dorothy's Name are suggested to benefit Trinity Lutheran Church.
