Carol Anne Persson

Memorial service for Carol Ann (Kay) Persson will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2011 at Family Life Church with Pastor Martin Crump officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Carol Ann Persson, age 74, passed away at the Close To Home Hospice House in Gillette Wyoming on December 20, 2011 after a year-long battle with cancer. Carol was born in Manchester, Ohio on June 22, 1937 the daughter of Lewis and Ardona (Chandler) Kay. After graduating from Manchester High School she married Clarence H. Persson on June 20, 1955. They resided where Clarence was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with the U.S. Marine Corp until his discharge on January 6, 1956. They then moved to Clarence's family homestead twenty-five miles south of Gillette on Highway 50. In March of 1979, she and Clarence semi-retired from the ranch and moved to Gillette. Starting in 1983, they spent every winter in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.Carol and Clarence had three children: Terrance (Cindy) Persson of Gillette, Wyoming, Troy (Lori) Persson of Glendale, Arizona and Sandina (Dan) Neal of Deadwood, South Dakota. Eight grandchildren: Drew Persson, Ben (Missy) Persson, Josh (Tara) Persson, Cortney Persson, Justin Persson, Brittany (Cort) Petersen, Bridget (Garrett) Rothenhoefer and Steven Neal; and two great-grandchildren Tynlee and Logynn Petersen.Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers- Bill and Jack Kay. She is survived by her immediate family and brother Gary Kay of Gillette, Wyoming and sisters' Barbara Davis, Sue Mitchell and Helen Kay all of Manchester, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews.Memorials are suggested in Carol's name to Campbell County Memorial Hospice of Gillette, WY.
