Graveside service for Jack Butler will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Marty Crump of the Family Life Church officiating. Military honors provided by American Legion Post #42Lawrence G. "Jack" Butler, long time Campbell County resident passed away at his Peoria, AZ home on December 5, 2011. He was 83. He was born on January 28, 1928 to Larry and Clara Butler. At 18 he joined the army proudly serving during post WWII where he was stationed in Japan. Upon an honorable discharge he returned to Gillette where he started Mid States Construction Company. On July 2, 1971 he married Noreen J. Iliff. With this union came four children whom he accepted and embraced in every way. He was an avid sportsman taking the state championship in archery a number of times. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family at Keyhole. In later years he enjoyed his winter stays in Arizona with immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and his wife Noreen.He is survived by his sister, Betty Wamhoff of Sheridan, Wyoming, children, Heather (Allen) Porn, Glenn (Judy) Iliff, Bob (Paulette) Iliff of Gillette, Wyoming and Colleen (Matt) Grimm of Peoria, Arizona, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family requests any donations in his remembrance to the local Humane Society.
