Linda graduated from Colby High School in 1970. She attended Colby Community College in 1971 and 1972 during which time she was asked to join a USO singing tour in Panama and the Turk Islands, thus began her involvement with American Service members. Starting at a young age and continuing through her life she loved to sing; for herself, for others, and for her family. In 1974 she moved to Colorado City and in 1975 her life began when she met her soulmate Jerry Wayne Wade, it truly was love at first sight. They married in 1976 having a traditional Viking Wedding. This union brought together two families and blended them as one, which Linda was very proud of.Linda's first and foremost concern was for her family, friends, and kitties Saturn and Venus. She loved to have any and all of them at family gatherings, as she loved to cook for them, just DON'T be late for dinner! She loved to go on drives to look at God's creations; she was also fascinated by the night sky and spent a lot of time looking up at the nighttime heavens. Her other love and passion was reading, she considered the many books she acquired over the years her friends, and cherished every one of them. In her youth she was active in Job's Daughters and was Past Honored Queen of the Bethel in Colby KS. Her fraternal ties continued into her adulthood where she was President of B.P.O. Does, Gillette Drove No.223 in 1981, Worthy Matron of Gentian Chapter No. 23 Order of Eastern Star in 1986-87, and Queen of Sahida Temple No.86 Daughters of the Nile in 1991-92.She was a successful business office manager, working at Campbell County High School and the Senior Center in Gillette. At the time of her death she was the business office manager for the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg, CO. She had helped coordinate as well as perform in the annual Veterans day Program at this facility which included singing, dancing, and acting. In honor of Linda, her co-workers are making the annual Christmas caroling in her honor and memory. Linda's roles as wife, sister, mom, grandma, mimi, and friend could not have been done better. She will be dearly missed, we all love her mostest and biggest. It has been said that she couldn't sew, but Linda glued together quite a family. She was preceded in death by her Mama and Daddy, and her brother Stan Boone.Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Wade; her son, Bobby (Angie) Wade; daughters Tammi (Bruce) Hitt and Misti Wade (Chuck Palmer); brother John (Shauna) Gunnels all of Gillette, Wyoming; brother Jody Gunnels of Wichita KS; brother Steve (Gail) Gunnels of Westcliffe CO; sister Sherry (Leo) Perry of Tukwila WA; and mother-in-law Hazel Cannon, of Gillette, Wyoming; and other-mother Barbara Gunnels of Farmington, NM; along with twelve grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; her Aunt, Johanna (Phil) McGowan; along with multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.Memorials are suggested to the Heptner Cancer Center or a charity of one's choice.
