Memorial services will be at Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel in Pioneer Manor on November 28, 2011 at 10:00a.m., with Reverend James Pope officiating.Dorcas Ruth(Osborn)King, age 89, of Gillette, Wyoming went to be with our Lord and Savior on Nov 12, 2011 at Pioneer Manor.Dorcas King was born Sept 15, 1922 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Glen and Olive Osborn and was raised on a ranch southeast of Gillette. She attended country school till high school. Dorcas graduated from Campbell County High School in 1939. She attended nurses training in Pueblo, Colorado where she met Alfred "Herb" King. They were married in January 1943, after WW11 they moved to a ranch near McFadden, Wyoming. In 1959, Dorcas and her family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where she worked as an LPN at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was one of the first two females to be hired as a nurse at the VA hospital in Sheridan. In 1974, she moved to Gillette, Wyoming where she took care of people in their homes. She belonged to AGLOW and served as the treasurer. Dorcas also conducted bible study at Pioneer Manor for 17 yrs, and was responsible for the Chapel being built at Pioneer Manor.Dorcas is survived by a brother, Dale Osborn; two sister-in-laws: Esther Hansel and Linda OSborn;5 children: Marion(Tom)Couch, John(Merry Ann)King, Jim(Barb)King, Twyla Greub and Marty(Martin)Stearns; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Harvey Osborn, two husbands: Herb King and Bill Edelen, a sister-in-law, Ruth Osborn .In lieu of flowers please donate to Gideon Bibles.
