Mass of Christian Burial for Steve "Stevie" Allen Lara will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with a prayer vigil service at 6:00 p.m.Stevie Lara, age 54, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital after a long term illness.Stevie Lara was born on February 6, 1957 in Gillette, Wyoming to Benerito "Benny" and Rose (Jaramillo) Lara. He was raised and educated in Gillette. Stevie was baptized in the catholic church. He was active in playing football and wrestling while in high school. Stevie enjoyed listening to music, watching Elvis movies, visiting with family and going for rides to get a soda. Most of all he really enjoyed the company of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and time with his family. He brought much joy to the lives of his family and other he met. Stevie is survived by his sisters: Glenda Valencia of San Bernardino, California, Betty Clouse and Brenda LaVallie both of Gillette, Wyoming, Vickie Barker of Casper, Wyoming; brothers: Bobby Lara of Gillette, Wyoming and Benny Lara of Albuquerque, New Mexico; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Billy Lara and Don Lara; and three sisters: Peggy Lara, Gloria Lara and Dixie Schiefer.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Stevie's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
