Harold Wayne DeMott

There will be a gathering of friends and family 4-8 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home to celebrate the life of Harold DeMott.Harold W. DeMott, age 58 died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Gillette, WyHe was born on April 25, 1953 the son of Harold "Whitey" and Virginia (Wolf) DeMott in Macomb, Illinois.Harold graduated from in 1972 from VIT High School in Table Grove, Illinois. While in high school he worked for the family gas station.After graduating from high school he was employed with the Sun Spot Mine in Vermont, Illinois till the mine was shut down. He married Wendy Nielsen in 1976 and they had one daughter, Jessica. Harold transferred to Gillette, Wyoming in 1980 with the Amax Coal Company. He married Roberta Allen in 1981 and they had two daughters, Corri and Holly. Harold worked in the coal mining industry for 37 years. For the last year he was employed for Rex's Hot Shot Trucking. Harold loved to travel and enjoyed his collection of vintage cars. Harold was also thought of as a very dedicated and reliable employee.Surviving are his three daughters, Jessica DeMott of Stillwater, MN; Corri DeMott of Dallas, TX; and Holly DeMott of Adair, IL; mother, Virginia DeMott, of Vermont, IL; three sisters, Carolyn (Rick) Beaird of Austin, TX; Lisa (Larry) Kendrick of Vermont, IL; and Marilyn (Ed) Bohm of Port St. Lucie, FL and five nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, infant brother, and infant sister.In lieu of flowers, memorials and condolences may be sent in Harold's name to Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY.
