Memorial services for James Quintana will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Pioneer Manor Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming with Reverend Tom Frey of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating.James Quintana, age 72, a Wyoming native and lifelong resident, passed away October 30, 2011 at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyoming after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.James was born in Rariden, Wyoming on March 29, 1939, the son of Louis and Lucy (Lopez) Quintana. He was raised in the Worland area and graduated from Worland High School in 1958. James joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1958 until 1962. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor during this time. After receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, James met the love of his life, Lois Jean Collins, and the couple were married on March 26, 1965. James worked for Amoco Pipeline Co. for twenty-five years until his retirement on January 2, 2002. He was most proud of being a father, grandfather, and husband. James was known for his beautiful tenor singing voice. Some of his most favorite times were in the 15 years he performed with the Community Federation Church Choir in Thermopolis, Wyoming. James was also know for his kind manner and the laughter he always brought with him.James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois (Collins) Quintana, sons: Louis Quintana of Lafayette, California; and Robert Quintana of Gillette, Wyoming; brothers: Robert and David of Worland, Wyoming; and Rick of Vancouver, Washington; sisters: Helen Rangle of Vernal, Utah; Nancy Fronk of Worland, Wyoming; and Shirley Mays of Green River, Wyoming; and by his four grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Castro Quintana and Lucy (Lopez) Quintana.
