Memorial service for Larry Mountain will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home with Brad Scott officiating.Mr. Mountain, of Gillette entered into eternal life on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Denver, Colorado from a long illness following a lung transplant He was 62. Larry was born on May 19, 1949 in Mitchell, South Dakota to James and Betty (Cummings) Mountain. He was raised and educated in Mitchell graduating with the Class of 1967. He met and married Karen Hohn of Parkston, South Dakota in 1973. The couple made their home in Mitchell before moving to Gillette in 1980. Here they raised their three children all whom graduated from Campbell County High School. Larry was employed by the Campbell County Road and Bridge from 1980 until he retired in 2007.He served from 1986 to 2006 on the Board of Directors for the Consolidated Credit Union and when it merged with Campco he remained as Chairman of the Board. Larry was effective in making Campco grow into the company it is today.Larry enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.Larry is survived by his wife Karen Mountain of Gillette, Wyoming and their three children: Jeremy Mountain of Gillette, Kristy and her husband Dustin Smith of Katy, Texas and Rocky Mountain of Gillette; two grandsons: Taylor James Smith and Chase Emery Smith both of Katy, Texas; father, James Clark Mountain and his wife Mary of Mitchell, South Dakota; sister, Karla Sueflow and her husband Scott; along with many nieces and nephews and also by the familys special friend, Jean Faust of Gillette. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mountain.
