Funeral services for Shelton "Ricky" Niemitalo will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 1, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Jerry Rott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.Ricky Niemitalo, age 63, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home.Ricky Niemitalo was born on November 30, 1947 in Stanley, North Dakota the son of Matt and Leona (Zimmerman). He was raised in West Belden North Dakota. Ricky graduated from Stanley High School in 1965. Following high school he served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. Ricky spent some of his time in Germany while serving. He married Laurie Drosdal in 1972, and they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where they made their home. The couple later divorced. While in Gillette, he worked in the oilfield. In 1984, he moved to Elko, Nevada where he worked at Cortez Gold Mine. In 2001, he moved back to Gillette.Ricky is survived by his children: Renae Blake of Effingham, Illinois, Loren (Noamie) Niemitalo of Gillette, Wyoming, Jawnie Sanders of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Clark Niemitalo of Bristol, Indiana; his 7 grandchildren: BriAnna, KyLee, Taylor, McKenzie, Taran, Joey and Carlie and one great-grandson, Maddox; his sisters: Sharon Dean, Candace (Doug) Means, Susan Ferguson, Jill Ogle, and Ginger (Dennis) Uran, all of Gillette, Wyoming and one brother, Jack Niemitalo, of Park City, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Leona Niemitalo and his beloved dog Loki.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Ricky's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
