A funeral service for Paul John Drew, age 61, of Gillette, Wyoming, will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Rachel Nava will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. A private family burial will take place at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, WY. Paul passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Johnson County due to injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident. Paul John Drew was born on January 28, 1950 to John H. and Clara A. Drew (ne Briar) in Sidney, Montana. When Paul was a year old, the family moved from North Dakota to Cheyenne where he attended school and graduated from East High School in 1968. Paul attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie where he received a Bachelor of Science in Theater in 1974. He attended the University of Wyoming College of Law and received his J.D. in 1978. In 1970 he met Donna Lund, and the couple married on June 10, 1973. Paul was admitted to the bar in 1978, after which he and Donna moved to Gillette where Paul began his law career working in the office of Tom Lubnau Sr. In 1982 he opened his own firm where he continued to practice until the time of his death. Paul was an active member of the Wyoming State Bar and served as president for the 1999-2000 term. As a younger man Paul enjoyed hunting with his father. Paul was also an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed camping and hiking. He was an insatiable reader of nonfiction. Paul was an excellent cook and enjoyed barbequing and making large meals for family and friends. In the last year and half of his life, he delighted in visiting his one grandson.
