John Alfred Crist

Memorial service for John Crist will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Christian Church with Pastor Lon Sassman officiating.Mr. Crist, age 67, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming due to complications from surgery. John Alfred Crist was born on January 9, 1944, the son of Dick and Dorothy (Finn) Crist in Denver, Colorado. He was raised and educated in Denver where he graduated from high school. A hardworking man, John immediately entered the workforce after his graduation, working for various employers throughout his life. In 1971, he moved to California for ten years eventually returning to Denver. He retired in 2009, and moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near his sister. John had a great love for the Lord, he enjoyed reading and studying his Bible and attending the Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family, he enjoyed taking walks, watching movies, and listening to music. He was definitely a "people person" and counted many dear friends.John is survived by his sister, Jackie Darnall and her husband Calvin of Gillette, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews including: Scott Darnall of Pierre, South Dakota, Angie Schroeder of Hill City, South Dakota and Jeff Darnall of Vail, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and sister Ellen. Memorials are suggested to Campbell County Public Library.
