Graveside services for Charles Lee Welch will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2011 at Bethlehem Cemetery with Pastor Elgin Faber of Mike Morrison Ministries officiating. Charlie Welch, age 56, of Gillette, Wyoming died at his home on Wednesday, July 6, 2011after a long illness. Charlie Welch born to Dorothy and Alvis Welch in Newcastle, Wyoming, June 9th 1955. At a young age he and his family moved to Glendive, Montana where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Dawson County High School, graduating in 1973. After high school, he worked as a truck driver at Paraffin Service, a business owned by his father. On December 29th, 1978, Charlie married his high school sweetheart , Sherry Buck. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Chelsey born November 7th, 1983, Kasey born October 5th, 1985, and Kaitlyn born January 19th, 1989. Charlie enjoyed nothing more than following his girls in sports. Whether it was basketball, baseball, or rodeo he was always there to cheer them on. He also enjoyed Nascar, hunting, fishing, camping, being in the mountains, and being in the outdoors. He owned Welch Construction in Lewistown, Montana for 26 years doing excavating, general construction. In 2004, he and his family moved to Wyoming where he was contracted as a Pipeline Consultant for Western Gas. In 2005, he suffered a traumatic brain aneurism at which time the family continued with Welch Construction as a Roustabout and Erosion control company. He was proud of his three daughters for finding the strength to be in the field operating a company considered to be a "mans line of work" . Although he was seldom in the fields after his aneurism he was always there for advice. His vast knowledge in equipment, trucks and in life was the shoulder everyone always leaned on for answers. He was able to walk all three of his daughters down the aisle on their wedding days. His life was his family, no one came before them. He was graced by two grandchildren Gracin and Averie whom he loved with all his heart. His love for his daughters can be seen in the amazing women they have become. He will never be gone, never will he be forgotten. He lives in the eyes of his daughters, and the memories of a lifetime spent with his wife. His love will raise the generations to come. He may be gone but he lives on in everyone who came into contact with him. Charlie Won the battle over his illness and went home to be with his Heavenly Father. Charlie was survived by his wife Sherry Welch of Gillette, Wyoming, his three daughters: Chelsey (Kurt) Kissack, Kasey (Daniel) Peak, Katie (Zach) Dorr all of Gillette, Wyoming; his grandchildren: Gracin and Averie; sister, Deb (Jim) Nette of Billings, Montana, his in laws: Lucille and Donald Frerichs, sister and brother in law: Brenda and Doug Nissley all of Glendive, Montana, Frenchy Buck of Issaquah, Washington; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and his dog Saffie Jo. Charlie was proceeded in death by his parents , grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
