James Melvin Bacon

James M Bacon passed away Tuesday, June 29th, 2011 ending his fight with cancer. A gathering of friends and family will be held on 4:00 P.M., Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Moose Lodge in Gillette, WY. As per his wishes he will be cremated. James was born September 29, 1951 in Crosby, ND to Evelyn and Frank Bacon. In his early 20s he moved to Fargo, ND and attended Hansons Mechanical Trade School, completing his certificate before returning the family farm. He met and married Virginia Smith in 1975 and brought four Children into this world. They lived on the family farm outside Crosby, ND until their divorce in 1983. Jim worked hard to support his family. In 1985 he left the family farm in seek employment that would help him support his family further. This search led him to towns such as Tioga, Williston, Bismarck, and Mandan North Dakota. In 1986 he sought work in Nevada, living in Carson City and Dayton. When the job market changed once again he switched hats and moved to Gillette, WY with his family in 1991. Upon moving to Gillette, he worked various jobs including providing maintenance for the then named J&J Trailer Park. In 1993 he began working at L&L Mine Services where he was employed until March of this year. In 1993, Jim met and married his true love, Eileen Grove. From this marriage he gained three more children.Jim is survived by his seven children; Lydia (Bacon) Kelley, Herbert Bacon, JoAnna (Bacon) Cabral, and Heather (Grove) Bame all of Gillette, WY; Michel Bacon of Cheyenne, WY; Lea Bucky of Billings, MT; and Billy Bucky of Casper, WY; his six sisters, Elaine Grant of Hilmar, CA; Verna Bacon of Capitola, CA; Linda McClanahan of Sonora, CA; Kaye Bacon of TX; Dianne Fagerbakke of Noonan, ND; Barbie Cook of Elko, OK; and several grand children, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen Bacon, both of his parents, his sister Susie and all of his aunts and uncles.
