Memorial services for Joanne McGuire will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Central Baptist Church. Interment was held at Mt. Pisgah's Cemetery. Joanne (Morgan) McGuire, age 76, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family after a long illness with Parkinson's disease. The twelfth of fifteen children, she graced the family of Norvin (N.D.) and Alfreda Deaver Morgan on December 30, 1934 in Gillette, Wyoming. She was raised on her mother's homestead ranch south of Gillette and attended Campbell County High School during the time her father N.D. Morgan was principal. On June 28, 1953 Joanne married John "J.D." McGuire in Gillette, Wyoming. Joanne's life was one of service to others. In addition to serving with her husband as pastors in Whitebird, Idaho and Upton, Wyoming, she gave wise counsel, instructed, led, organized and tirelessly gave charitable gifts of time and resources. Joanne & JD housed many families in their home in their time of need and she attended to the ill and elderly family members in her life. Joanne was a prolific reader and enjoyed painting, playing piano, singing hymns, retreating to the family cabin in Story, Wyoming, wild flower and bird identification, spending time with her grandchildren, and family reunions. She is survived by her husband, Reverend John (JD) McGuire of Gillette, Wyoming; her seven children: Linda McGuire of Deadwood, South Dakota, Debra (Jeff) Kucera of Gillette, Wyoming, Stuart McGuire of Gillette, Wyoming, Tracy Sabra of Austin, Texas, John (Terry) McGuire of Gillette, Wyoming, Christine (Emmett) Middaugh of Phoenix, Arizona, Julie McGuire of Gillette, Wyoming and foster son, Joe Frerichs of Georgetown, Texas; 22 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her brothers: Richard (Dick) Morgan of Gillette, Wyoming and Marshall Morgan of Morrill, Nebraska; and her sister, Mary Newman of Norman, Oklahoma.Those present to greet her at the gates of Heaven are her parents Norvin (N.D.) and Alfreda Deaver Morgan, granddaughter Evangelina Simcheck, sister's Darlene (Dee) Smith, Lyla Walters, Harriette Brown, Freda (Janette) Wise, Minnie ( Jane) Cowan, Patricia (Patty) Purcelli and brother's James (Jim), William (Bill), John, Norvin (Junior) and Donald Morgan.
