Funeral services for Lyle R. Oleson will be held at 2:oo p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Vickie Kissack officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Lyle R. Oleson, age 54, of Gillette, Wyoming died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at his home after a short battle with liver cancer.Lyle Oleson was born on April 27, 1957 the son of Charles Eugene and Rheta Mae (Sims) Oleson in Newcastle, Wyoming. He was raised and educated in Newcastle. He married Diane McPeak on August 3, 1977, to this union two sons were born. The couple later divorced. Lyle moved to Gillette, Wyoming in the early 1980's. He met the woman of his dreams, Rita Gilbertson in January of 1985. Lyle moved to Sidney, Montana from 1986-1996 where Lyle married Rita on August, 19, 1989. In 1997, the couple moved back to Gillette with their two children Courtney and Jacob. Lyle worked his whole career in all facets of the oilfields in Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota. In the last few years he did lawn care, building beautiful rock gardens and any yard project he could tackle. Lyle's man cave was the envy of his friends. His 2 main passions in life were riding his Harley & shooting pool. Lyle played on several pool leagues over the years & also enjoyed camping and riding his four wheelers. Lyle loved being a grandpa. Lyle is survived by his wife, Rita Oleson of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Shawn (Shauna) Oleson of Casper, Wyoming, Daran Oleson and Jacob Oleson both of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Courtney Oleson of Sidney, Montana; brothers: Randy (Rhonda) Oleson and Chuck Oleson all of Newcastle, Wyoming; sisters: Teresa Blashill of Newcastle, Wyoming, Christine Jannetto of Chandler, Arizona and Angela (Clip) Baldwin of Gillette, seven grandchildren, aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials are suggested to benefit Wyoming Biker's Association.
