Chance Hayden DeBerg

A casual funeral service with casual attire requested by the family for Chance Hayden DeBerg will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, WY with Steve Rosier officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 p.m., prior to the service. A reception to follow at Bell Nob Golf Course.Chance DeBerg, age 22, passed away June 4, 2011 following an ATV accident in Crook County.Chance Hayden DeBerg was born September 16, 1988 in Gillette, Wyoming, the son of Jack DeBerg and Theresa Clay. He was raised in Gillette, Wyoming attending Meadow Lark Elementary, Twin Spruce Junior High and Campbell County High School. He graduated from Westwood School in 2007.Upon his graduation he began working full time at his father's business, Hillcrest Auto Body, and was currently the manager.Chance was very competitive in fishing and bowling. His senior year he went to the Cabala's National Championship, and this year in bowling, he won double scratch with his father at the city tournament. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, archery shooting, fishing, including ice fishing. His father was very proud that the skills he taught him as a child, Chance grew to exceed any expectation of Jack's own.Chance is survived by his father, Jack (Heather) DeBerg of Gillette, WY; sister Mackenzie DeBerg of Rapid City, SD; brother, Hayden DeBerg of Gillette, WY; Stepsister Faith Rudland of Gillette, WY; Grandfather, Paul DeBerg of Watertown, SD; Aunts, Sue DeBerg, Sandy DeBerg and Julie DeBerg all of Watertown, SD; Uncle Tom (Penny) DeBerg of Gillette, WY; Two very special Nanny's, Tammy Jo Schafer and Tanya Cundy of Gillette, WY; and numerous cousins.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garrett and Jacob DeBerg and grandmother, Joy DeBerg.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Chance's name to Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY.
