Memorial service for Michael Deranick will be at 7:00 p.m., May 26, 2011 at Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home with Sister Carol Metchenberg retired and Mercella Menzies Beeson officiating. Military honors provided by American Legion Post #42. At the family's request cremation has already taken place.Michael Lee Deranick, age 48, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Gillette, WY following a heart event.Michael Lee along with his twin brother Mitchell R. were born August 23, 1962 to Marvin and Karen Deranick, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. While in school, Mike was very active in little league. He graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1981.After high school Mike joined US Naval Reserves for four years, then enlisted in the US Navy for an additional ten years. He was a member of the Seventh Fleet serving on the USS Fletcher Destroyer which ported out of Long Beach, CA, and Hawaii. He traveled to China, Hong Kong, Japan, and other various ports. He was on alert in the Persian Gulf in 1990. His last tour of duty was in Fallen, Nevada where he resided before moving to Buel, Idaho where he was employed at a pellet mill. Mike moved to Gillette, WY in 2001 and went to work at C & S Oil Tools Inc. where he was working at the time of his death. He met Susan Ault, and they were married July 22, 2006. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and boating. The last few years Mike was an avid antelope and mule deer hunter.Mike is survived by his wife Susan Deranick, and step sons Keith and, AJ of Gillette, WY; mother, Karen Deranick and her special friend, Timber Jim Hollar; twin brother, Mitchell Deranick and his special friend, Theresa Day; nieces, Krysta and Catherine and her special friend Jeremy Knoll; nephew, Adam Deranick, and great nephew, Gavin Knoll; uncle, Melvin Deranick, as well as numerous cousins, and friends all from the Wisconsin Rapids area.Mike, we love you and you will be forever in our hearts. Mike is proceeded in death by his father, and grandparents. Memorials and condolences may be sent Michael's name to Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716.
