Evelyn Lillie Donner

A graveside service for Evelyn Donner will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Rozet, WY with Associate Pastor Shayla Graham of the Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft officiating . Upon her wishes a private cremation service has taken place.Evelyn, age 84 passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of a sudden illness.Evelyn Lillie Donner was born on May 22, 1926 in Rozet, Wyoming the daughter of David and Vida (Duvall ) Whisler. She was one of sixteen children and grew up in Rozet where she attended school until graduating in 1944. Evelyn married Melvin Harvey Donner on December 25, 1946 and together the couple had two children. Along with being a homemaker she also taught school off and on during the early years of her marriage. Later Evelyn worked at Gillette Credit Bureau as well as at the Hub Cafe in Moorcroft and Pioneer Manor in Gillette.Evelyn was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. Her main interest was her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend their school programs and enjoyed being at as many of their sporting events as possible.Evelyn was precede in death by her father, David Riley Whisler, mother, Vida Pearl (Duvall) Whisler, husband, Melvin Harvey Donner , and granddaughter Teresa Rae Donner.She is survived by her son, Harvey Herman Donner, Daughter, Vida Fern McCollam, grandchildren: Traci Nelson, Jeff Donner, Matt Donner, and Phillip McCollam; great grandchildren: Sarah Nelson, Je'Ray Nelson , Seton Donner and Kya Donner.A memorial has been established in Evelyn's name to benefit Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
