Memorial services for Jessie Duvall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Donovan Voigt officiating.Jessie Mae Duvall, age 92, longtime Rozet, Wyoming resident passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 of natural causes.Jessie Duvall was born on August 6, 1918 in Beaver Dam, Watauga County, North Carolina, the second oldest of six children of Lee P. Johnson and Emma Grace (Cable) Johnson. She moved with her family to Garryowen, Montana in 1919, following her father's job with the railroad. The family moved to Upton, Wyoming and then Rozet, Wyoming. Jessie married Carroll Duvall on December 17, 1938. They had three children: Johnny Duvall, Norma Jean Ruff and Pam Marquiss. Mr. Duvall passed away on June 14, 1975. Jessie continued living on the ranch until 2007, when her health forced her to move to the Stocktrail Apartments and then finally to the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. Although her body might have failed, her mind was sharp until the end. Jessie enjoyed being with family and friends. She was famous for her popcorn balls at Halloween. Jessie enjoyed her yard and the wildlife at the ranch, She especially liked the wild turkeys. Jessie loved watching Thoet's llamas and was always the first to know if there was a new calf on the place or a cow out.Jessie is survived by her son, Johnny (Carrol) Duvall of Lubbock, Texas; her two daughters: Norma Jean Ruff of Rozet, Wyoming and Pam (Bob) Marquiss of Bozeman, Montana; 7 grandchildren: Bobbie Husted and Jake (Lu) Ruff both of Rozet, Wyoming, Bobbi (Craig) Marquiss Miller of Bozeman, Montana, Tanya (Mike) Marquiss Cristo of Franklin, Tennessee, Terri (Dwight Griffin) Duvall of Richmond, Kentucky, Scott Duvall of Lubbock, Texas and Gina (Mike) Duvall Moskey of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 11 great grandchildren: Trevor Ruff, Nolan Ruff, Brandie (Scott) Husted Jeffress, and Trey Husted all of Rozet, Wyoming, Mac Miller and Maddi Miller both of Bozeman, Montana, Dustin Duvall and Johny Jo Mosley both of Lubbock, Texas, Jessica Mosley, Savannah Mosley and Tyler Mosley all of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 6 great great grandchildren: Logan Husted, Lana Jeffress and Lexie Jeffress all of Rozet, Wyoming, Shilah Husted of Gillette, Wyoming, Tyler Daniel King of Lubbock, Texas and Jackson Ledden of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and aunt and uncle, Howard and Patsy Cable of North Carolina.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister, son-in-law Buck Ruff, grandchildren: Alfred Ruff, Peggy Jo Ruff, Diane Husted and Tracy Marquiss.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Jessie's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.
