Funeral service for Ruth Gustafson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, WY with Pastor Bill Morel of the Family Life Church officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home.Ruth Gustafson, age 89, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.Ruth Ester Gustafson was born July 10, 1921 to Dencil and Mae (Brown) McDonald in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ruth married John A. Gustafson in September 1952, they lived in Minnesota for several years where Ruth worked at as a bookkeeper at a Clockwork's store in Minneapolis. Ruth and John moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1974.Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star and the Moose Lodge where she enjoyed helping serve Thanksgiving dinner. She liked to crochet and spent many hours making baby afghans, and potholders. Ruth loved to read and do crossword puzzles, cooking for friends and family and shopping. She really enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and never missed a chance to take a trip to Deadwood.Ruth is survived by her son John Drew (Mardy Jo) Gustafson of Burlington, CO; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents, brother, Paul McDonald; and grandson Jason Gustafson.A memorial has been established in Ruth's name to benefit The American Cancer Society.
