Memorial service for Zelda Eckard will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel, Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, Gillette, WY with Pastor Scott Firminac of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.Zelda Mae Eckard, age 90, of Gillette, WY died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home.She was born on March 9, 1921, in Hickory, North Carolina, the daughter of Truman Earl and Bessie (Killian) Bowman. She married Lawrence Eckard on May 13, 1939 in Gaffney, South Carolina.Zelda enjoyed ceramics and volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center. She also took great pride in planting flowers each spring.Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Terry (Cheryl) Eckard of Gillette, WY; Larry (Roberta) Eckard of Nampa, ID; and Patricia (Walt) Dold of Conway, SC; four sisters, Ruby Hall, Jane (Randall Parsons, Shirley ( Frank) Shannon and Janette Beach all of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Zelda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and six brothers.In lieu of flowers, memorials and condolences may be sent in Zelda's name in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716.
